Steve Slusser got his start at Rusty Eck Ford at 19 years old. He spent years working his way through the automotive industry — dealerships, service departments, management roles — and earned his Senior Master Mechanic Certificate through Ford along the way. He's the kind of mechanic who's done it all: worked under the hood, managed a service team, dealt with customers, handled the business side.
After co-owning a shop and learning what he wanted to do differently, Steve opened Slusser Automotive in 2017. He was the only employee. He answered the phones, did the repairs, built the client relationships, and grew the business one honest job at a time.
Since then, Slusser Automotive has become the shop Wichita calls when other shops say no — the go-to for fleet managers, work truck owners, and everyday drivers who just want someone they can trust. That's still what this place is. Steve runs a tight, honest shop and that's not changing.

We tell you what's wrong, what it costs to fix — nothing padded, nothing manufactured. If something else needs attention, we'll mention it and tell you whether it's urgent or can wait. That's it.
